BigHit Music has responded to ongoing speculation concerning BTS member Jimin and actress Song Da-eun, confirming that while the two shared mutual feelings in the past, they are not presently involved romantically. Rumors of a relationship initially surfaced in 2022 but remained unaddressed by either party at the time.
The speculation reignited recently after Song Da-eun posted an Instagram Story last May that fans interpreted as featuring Jimin, prompting renewed discussion online. Korean media outlet Money Today further fueled the rumors by suggesting the pair had been in a relationship that ended, though details about its timing and length were not disclosed.
In a statement released on August 31, BigHit Music expressed reluctance to comment earlier to respect the privacy of both individuals involved. However, given the persistent and unfounded rumors affecting their personal lives, the agency felt compelled to confirm certain facts.
"Our company has refrained from making any statements until now in order to respect Jimin's private life as well as the individual being mentioned in relation to it," the agency stated. "However, as speculative reports concerning the artist's personal life have continued to surface and groundless rumors have been spreading, we find it unavoidable to clarify the bare minimum facts."
The agency confirmed that Jimin and Song were once "acquainted with mutual affection in the past," but emphasized that they are not currently dating. BigHit urged the public to avoid making reckless assumptions or engaging in behavior that could negatively impact the individuals involved.
Jimin debuted as BTS's lead vocalist and main dancer in 2013 and launched a solo career with his 2023 album "Face," followed by "Muse" a year later. Song Da-eun is recognized for her roles in dramas such as "Dear My Room," "Be Melodramatic," and "Golden Spoon," and also appeared on the reality dating show "Heart Signal 2."
