In Bulacan, a resourceful pet owner successfully used a kitten to summon its mother back home after she had been missing for several hours. On August 12, Aisha Nicolle Caayao held one of the newborn kittens in front of a window to capture the attention of Toffee Copperclaw, a mixed Persian-Siamese cat who had wandered off while her offspring were left hungry.

The mother cat responded promptly after seeing and hearing her kitten, turning around and leaping through the window to reunite with her young. Caayao recounted, "I used the kitten to call our mama cat. She had been missing since that morning, and the kittens were very hungry. I kept calling her, but she wasn’t responding or paying attention. So, I used her baby to make her hear the cry, and it worked."

Toffee was adopted by Caayao and her boyfriend, Joshua, from a neighbor and had recently given birth to three kittens. The feline often roams the neighborhood, but the family grew concerned when she did not return at her usual time.

A video of this touching moment was shared on Caayao's social media platforms, particularly on TikTok where it amassed over 418,000 views, 51,000 likes, and hundreds of comments. The post was captioned humorously, "When your mama cat doesn’t wanna go home, use her child as a weapon."

Social media users reacted with amusement, imagining the thoughts of the reluctant mother cat.
