Malacañang assured the public that the delisted member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), who faced allegations of misrepresenting his citizenship, did not have access to any operational activities of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

During a press briefing held on August 29, 2025, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that PCGA members function solely as a civil support group without authority over PCG operations.

"The public should not be alarmed, as the PCGA is a civilian organization. Regardless of nationality, members’ roles are limited to providing assistance, aid, and relief efforts alongside the PCG," Castro stated. "They do not have access to any operational details nor do they board PCG vessels."

She further highlighted the robust safeguards within the PCG structure, adding, "They cannot acquire information about any PCG operations. This is a measure strictly enforced by the PCG."

The Palace official also noted that while the individual suspected of being a foreign national and misrepresenting citizenship has been removed from the auxiliary, investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
