Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival expressed strong support for the launch of Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) in the city, a collaborative effort between the SM Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare Services (DSWS). The initiative aims to deliver prompt relief to communities impacted by recent flooding.
Speaking at the Barangay Mabolo Gymnasium, Mayor Archival highlighted the city’s active measures to reduce flooding risks, particularly through stream desilting. He stressed, "I’m really looking for a way to reduce flooding by desilting our streams. Let's resolve the floods now."
The relief operation distributed aid packages to more than 100 beneficiaries, forming part of SM Foundation's broader nationwide campaign to assist those affected by natural disasters. Mayor Archival reiterated the city government's dedication to addressing flood-related challenges and supporting affected families promptly.
