Bacolod City Declares November 17-23, 2025 as Boys and Girls Week to Empower Youth
The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a resolution on November 19, 2024, declaring November 17 to 23, 2025, as Boys and Girls Week to highlight the significance of youth in society and encourage their involvement in school and community activities.\n\nCouncilor Em Ang authored the resolution, which was co-authored by Councilor Danna Marie Barzo. The measure emphasizes that the youth represent the nation's future and underlines the importance of nurturing their talents, values, and leadership skills.\n\nThe city government recognizes the need to prioritize the welfare, development, and protection of boys and girls, fostering their overall well-being and promising future. Boys and Girls Week will serve as a platform to raise awareness and encourage active youth engagement in various civic and community programs.\n\nThe resolution outlines key objectives including the promotion of children's rights and welfare, stimulating their active participation in community development, and instilling values of responsible citizenship and patriotism.\n\nTo support these goals, the Bacolod City Government, in collaboration with schools, barangays, civic organizations, youth groups, and the barangay Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) through the SK Federation, will coordinate and implement diverse activities. These will feature educational initiatives, sports competitions, cultural presentations, and civic involvement projects designed to underscore the essential role of the youth in society.
