Bacolod Police Arrest Suspect in Anti-Drug Operation Seizing P272,000 Worth of Shabu
Authorities from Police Station 2's Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Teams successfully apprehended a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation on Saturday afternoon in Bacolod City. The operation took place at approximately 5:53 p.m. in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jude Dela Torre, a local resident and barker in the area, was caught in possession of around 40 grams of suspected shabu, neatly packaged in eight individual plastic sachets. The estimated value of the confiscated drugs reaches P272,000.
Following his arrest, Dela Torre has been placed under the custody of Police Station 2 and faces charges under Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a formal statement, the Bacolod Police underscored their unwavering dedication to their intensified anti-drug campaign, emphasizing continuous, intelligence-driven operations aimed at curbing the illegal drug trade within the community.
