Cebu Governor Honors Heroic Driver Who Rescued Flood Victims Amid Typhoon Tino
Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro publicly commended Francis Anthony Narvasa, a wing van driver celebrated for his brave efforts during the severe flooding in Barangay Cotcot, Liloan, triggered by Typhoon Tino. A viral video showed Narvasa, alongside two helpers, using his company’s wing van to block the rush of floodwaters, successfully saving six individuals from being swept away.
In a recent meeting with the governor, Narvasa revealed that he was dismissed from his job for using his employer’s vehicle in the rescue operation. In response to his courageous actions, Governor Baricuatro promptly offered him a position as a driver for the Capitol.
Expressing his gratitude, Narvasa stated in Cebuano, "I am deeply grateful to Governor Baricuatro for this opportunity and for the support during this challenging time." The governor’s gesture reflects recognition and support for frontline heroes who risk their safety to protect others during natural disasters.
