McDonald’s and RMHC Launch 50th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Biliran

Naval, Biliran — McDonald’s Philippines, in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), has officially opened the 50th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Calumpang, Naval, Biliran, marking a significant milestone in their ongoing commitment to early childhood education. The new facility offers vibrant classrooms, a dedicated reading area, a washroom, and sufficient learning materials capable of serving up to 100 children per academic year, all designed to prepare young learners for kindergarten and beyond.

The center features a playground and is sustainably powered by solar panels generously donated by RH Solar. Adding local cultural significance, a colorful mural crafted by artist Niño Torcuator portrays the endless creativity of children intertwined with Biliran’s rich heritage.

The launch event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from McDonald’s Philippines, RMHC, Coca-Cola Philippines, RH Solar, and local government officials such as Naval’s Mayor Gretchen Espina and Vice Mayor Nick Arthur Parilla. Families, community volunteers, and residents participated in activities, storytelling sessions, and enjoyed McDonald’s meals to celebrate this shared vision of accessible early learning.

Prominent Kindergarten educator and content creator Jess Placencia was also present, captivating young audiences with engaging stories and encouraging a love for learning.

Adi Hernandez, Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact of McDonald’s Philippines and RMHC Vice President, remarked, "This 50th Bahay Bulilit exemplifies what can be achieved when government, private sector, and communities unite. Although this milestone is a celebration, our mission continues as many Filipino children still lack access to early education. We remain dedicated to expanding our reach."

Since its inception in 2002, the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit program has established 50 learning centers nationwide, collectively supporting the education of some 5,000 children annually.
