DigiPlus Interactive Plans Soft Launch in South Africa by Early 2027
DigiPlus Interactive Corp., a prominent online gaming company, intends to initiate a soft launch of its South African operations by early 2027. President Andy Tsui revealed on Wednesday that the company is optimistic about securing its necessary licenses within the next eight months.
Drawing on its successful entry into Brazil's gaming market, DigiPlus plans to replicate a similar strategy in South Africa. "We will first obtain the license, then assemble a local team, and conduct detailed market research to tailor our product offerings," Tsui explained.
DigiPlus has formally submitted applications for three licenses to South Africa’s Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB): a national manufacturer license, a bookmaker license, and a bookmaker premises license. This step marks a significant effort to establish a foothold in one of the world's most promising regulated online gaming markets.
Tsui further commented, "Our approach will mirror our Brazil operation, with a focus on understanding local preferences and building a strong presence. We anticipate launching in early 2027 with a soft rollout to ensure a smooth market entry."
