Protests Across the Philippines End Peacefully Through Coordinated Efforts

The nationwide protests on November 30, held in Metro Manila and other regions to voice concerns against corruption, ended peacefully due to the joint efforts of rally organizers, participants, marshals, and police forces, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Sunday evening.

Acting PNP Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melecio Nartatez Jr. announced the completion of the rally dispersal operations and emphasized the PNP’s current focus on securing key roadways to facilitate the safe return of protesters to their homes. Traffic and station personnel remained on standby until normal traffic conditions resumed.

"Today’s demonstrations showed that peaceful assemblies and effective law enforcement can coexist harmoniously, reinforcing democratic processes when conducted responsibly," Nartatez said.

Earlier figures indicated that approximately 90,000 individuals participated in protests across the nation on Bonifacio Day. While a handful of individuals allegedly tried to disrupt some rallies, these "isolated attempts" were promptly handled by rapid response teams.

By 7 p.m., the PNP recorded 87 protests involving 55,975 participants, all of which concluded without any significant incidents. Metro Manila witnessed the largest gathering, with around 16,000 attendees.

The authorities noted that these numbers underscore the scale of the public assemblies and the collective responsibility taken to ensure their safety and order.

Nartatez expressed his gratitude toward rally organizers, marshals, and participants for exercising their rights with discipline and respect for public order. He also praised police ground commanders, civil disturbance management units, traffic personnel, and all deployed officers for their professionalism and restraint throughout the event—from preparation to final dispersal.

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño echoed these sentiments, commending the public for their cooperation and highlighting the critical role of coordination and calm responses during the protests.

"We commend everyone who joined today’s assemblies for showing discipline and respect for the law. Together, we have proven that peaceful gatherings are possible when every stakeholder acts with responsibility," Tuaño remarked.

In a related update, the Quezon City Police District confirmed the peaceful completion of the Trillion Peso March Movement rally held at the People Power Monument. QCPD Director Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio attributed the smooth operations to effective collaboration among the QCPD, the Quezon City government, and other agencies.

Silvio extended appreciation to the Quezon City government and cooperating agencies, as well as rally organizers and attendees for adhering to security protocols and responsibly exercising their rights.

"The QCPD remains committed to protecting the community, enforcing the law, and ensuring that every public assembly in Quezon City is conducted in a safe, peaceful, and orderly manner," Silvio added.
