Dar Global Partners with Trump Organization on Maldives Luxury Hotel Ahead of Saudi-U.S. Summit
Saudi-based real estate developer Dar Global revealed a new partnership with the Trump Organization on Monday to co-develop a luxury hotel project in the Maldives under the Trump International brand. This announcement comes ahead of the scheduled talks between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington.
The initiative will allow investors to finance the project through digital tokens, according to Dar Global, which is publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange. This approach marks a novel integration of blockchain technology within high-end real estate ventures.
Dar Global and the Trump Organization already maintain multiple joint projects across the Middle East, including locations in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. In September, the two parties signed a $1 billion agreement to develop a mixed-use community in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom’s effective ruler, is set to make his first visit to the White House in seven years on Tuesday. His strong rapport with President Trump was underscored by Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia in May, during which the prince committed to investments totaling $600 billion.
While Donald Trump remains a shareholder in the Trump Organization via a trust, operational control has been with his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, since 2016.
This partnership further underscores Saudi Arabia’s expansive push into luxury development projects utilizing global brands and innovative financing mechanisms ahead of high-level diplomatic engagements.
