Fatal Collision Between Truck and UV Express Van in Camalig Claims 11 Lives
In Camalig, Albay, a tragic accident occurred when a 10-wheel truck collided with a UV Express van, leading to the deaths of eleven individuals. Surveillance footage revealed that the truck was traveling at excessive speed through Barangay Libod and failed to reduce speed upon approaching a curve, causing the collision.
The violent impact caused both vehicles to tumble into a nearby river. The UV Express van was transporting 14 passengers at the time of the crash and suffered significant damage, making rescue operations challenging for emergency responders.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the truck, which was heading towards Guinobatan Town, experienced a mechanical problem shortly before the accident. The truck driver and three passengers from the van survived and are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
